Volleyball Game Preview: Mitchell Kernels vs. O'Gorman Knights

Mitchell hasn't had much luck against O'Gorman recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Kernels will be playing in front of their home fans against the Knights at 6:30 p.m.

Mitchell is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Dakota's top teams: Brandon Valley, who was ranked third at the time (Mitchell was ranked 13th). The Kernels fell 3-1 to the Lynx on Tuesday.

The final score came out to 25-15, 23-25, 25-13, 25-17.

Mitchell's loss came about despite a quality game from Kenna Soulek, who had 13 digs and four assists.

Meanwhile, O'Gorman made easy work of Huron on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win. The Knights have beaten the Tigers the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Tigers has come to flipping the script.

O'Gorman walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-13, 25-21.

Mitchell's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for O'Gorman, their win bumped their record up to 22-4.
