Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wapahani to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nate Luce, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards. Those 11 rebounds gave Luce a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Andrews, who went 5-for-10 en route to 13 points.
Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Monroe Central on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew South Adams out of the water with a 67-31 final score. The Golden Bears have beaten the Starfires the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Starfires has come to flipping the script.
Wapahani better keep an eye on Easton Foster. He was instrumental in Monroe Central's win, dropping a double-double with 22 points and ten boards. Foster's evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Luke Morgan was another key player, putting up ten points and four steals.
Wapahani pushed their record up to 17-1 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.2 points over those games. As for Monroe Central, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.
Friday's matchup is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Wapahani has been crazy accurate this season, having made 51.6% of their field goals per game. However, it's not like Monroe Central struggles in that department as they've made 47.3% of their shots this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
