It's playoff time, and Bowdon had no trouble coming through when it counted. They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 45-6 win over the Clinch County Panthers. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.

Bowdon got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Joshua Hopkins out in front who threw for 174 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 passes, and also rushed for 48 yards. The Red Devils' leading receiver Kaiden Prothro was Hopkins' top target yet again, picking up 113 receiving yards and two scores.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Bowdon proved: they limited Clinch County to a paltry 2.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Gavin Parmer for the heroic effort on defense: he. Bowdon's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 5.4.

Bowdon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Mykah Patterson and Prothro. Prothro has been hot, having also posted two or more receiving touchdowns the last seven times he's played. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win (which was Bowdon's ninth in a row) raised their record to 12-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.9 points over those games. As for Clinch County, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 13-1.

Bowdon and Lincoln County will compete for holiday cheer at 3:30 p.m. on the 15th. Bowdon will need to watch out since Lincoln County has now posted at least 31 points in their last ten contests. Clinch County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
