Football Recap: King City Takes a Loss + How To Watch

King City played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 38-12 to the St. Francis Sharks. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 304th, while the Sharks are ranked 28th).

It was another big night for Liliana Whitmeyer, who rushed for 206 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also threw for 257 yards and three TDs on only 19 passes for St. Francis. What's more, Whitmeyer racked up 146.4 passer rating, the most she's had over her last seven contests.

King City has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for St. Francis, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. King City is set to face off against their familiar foe Santa Cruz at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, St. Francis will take on rival Palma at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Sharks 9, the Chieftains 13.3) so any points scored will be well earned.
