Baseball Recap: Stratford Triumphs

Stratford won against Cane Bay on Monday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Knights came out on top against the Cobras by a score of 7-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-6 on Monday.

Jarrett Wagner made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Lucas Kline was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run. Dom Longello was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Stratford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Stratford and bumps their season record up to 14-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Cane Bay, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-12.

Stratford will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cobras: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
