Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southwestern Heights). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Elkhart Wildcats a 29-0 shutout on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won nine contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

The win was the fifth in a row for Southwestern Heights, bringing their record up to 13-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.6 runs over those games. As for Elkhart, they dropped their record down to 2-11-1 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southwestern Heights will face off against Holcomb at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs are facing the Longhorns at the right time seeing as the Longhorns are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Elkhart, they will venture away from home to face off against Syracuse at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
