Volleyball Recap: Beyer Beats Lathrop for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Beyer waltzed into their game on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the Lathrop Spartans as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in March.

Beyer's got stronger as the match went on, holding Lathrop to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-20, 25-15.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Beyer to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordan Sao Rodriguez, who had seven kills and two aces. Sao Rodriguez is on a roll when it comes to aces, as he's now served two or more in each of the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Ramos, who had five digs and two aces.

Sao Rodriguez wasn't the only good server: Beyer was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 12 consecutive matchups.

Beyer pushed their record up to 17-6 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Lathrop, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-7.

Beyer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Johansen on the 11th. As for Lathrop, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Pacheco on the 11th.
