Foothill has gone 9-1 against Bonanza recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. Foothill will head out on the road to square off against Bonanza at 3:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Foothill took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Bishop Gorman, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Foothill came out on top in a nail-biter against Bishop Gorman on Thursday, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Falcons have posted since March 8, 2024.
Foothill saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Thayne Watson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Will Gibson was another, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, while Bonanza put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Sports Leadership & Management. Bonanza was the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over Sports Leadership & Management. The win continues a trend for the Bengals in their matchups with the Bulls: they've now won four in a row.
Darren McGee made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He also launched a home run, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, Deegan Polson was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jesus Rios, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Bonanza's record now sits at 4-10. As for Foothill, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Everything went Foothill's way against Bonanza in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Foothill made off with an 11-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Foothill since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
