Softball Recap: Salome Comes Up Short

Salome extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 6-10 in the process. They came up short against the St. David Tigers, falling 12-0. The shutout was out of character for the Frogs seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

As for St. David, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 19-5. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 15 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

For St. David's part, the team relied heavily on Emelynn Jacquez, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Camber Jacquez was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Salome does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. David, they will take on Ash Fork/Seligman at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season.
