Recap: Valley Mills Eagles vs. Marlin Bulldogs
It was a good run, but The Valley Mills Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Marlin. Valley Mills has not had much luck with Marlin recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Marlin was led to victory by Jordan Womack and Roderick Suiters. Womack picked up 113 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Suiters threw for 206 yards and two touchdowns. Womack was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 61 yards.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Marlin's defense and their four sacks. Leading the way was Keiayr Young and his three sacks.
Valley Mills' defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Marlin, their win was their fourth straight at home , which pushed their record up to 8-2.
Valley Mills will take on Axtell at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Axtell has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 320 points over their last seven matches. As for Marlin, they will head out on the road to face off against Kerens at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kerens will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
