Football Recap: Corinth Holders Comes Up Short

Corinth Holders played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Leesville Road Pride and fell 48-10. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Pride are ranked 39th).

When it comes to explaining why Corinth Holders lost, don't look at Carter Lawson. Despite the final result, he picked up 111 receiving yards and one score. Lawson was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 60 yards.

Damacio Cueto was his usual excellent self, throwing for 343 yards and six touchdowns while completing 79.2% of his passes for Leesville Road. Those six passing touchdowns gave Cueto a new career-high. Jayden Lee Perry also helped with two TDs in total.

Corinth Holders' defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Leesville Road, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.
