The Mingo Central Miners will head out on the road to square off against the Chapmanville Regional Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are still undefeated (Mingo Central has nine wins dating back to last season, while Chapmanville Regional has eight).
On Friday, Mingo Central was fully in charge, breezing past Lincoln County 49-14. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-6.

Mingo Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bam Coleman, who rushed for 105 yards and four scores on only ten carries. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Coleman a new career-high. Keziah Joplin made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Mingo Central proved: they limited Lincoln County to a paltry 3.4 yards per carry. The team can thank Taegan Hackney for the heroic effort on defense: he. Mingo Central didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.2.
Mingo Central's defense didn't let Jack Shull, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Peyton Parker with two. Joplin got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Chapmanville Regional faced off against Logan on Friday. The Tigers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Wildcats 42-7. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by 35 points or more this season.
Mingo Central better keep an eye on Trey Ward. He was instrumental in Chapmanville Regional's win, picking up 144 receiving yards and three TDs. Another player making a difference was Dakota Dalton, who threw for 220 yards while completing 81.2% of his passes.
Mingo Central's record now sits at 8-0. As for Chapmanville Regional, their record is now an identical 8-0.
We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Mingo Central has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 361 total yards per game. However, it's not like Chapmanville Regional struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 436.5 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Mingo Central came up short against Chapmanville Regional in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 14-6. Can the Miners avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
