Basketball Game Preview: Prospect Knights vs. Rolling Meadows Mustangs

Prospect is 8-2 against Rolling Meadows since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Prospect Knights will host the Rolling Meadows Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Prospect is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Wheeling: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Prospect blew Wheeling out of the water with a 61-8 final score. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Angelina Calvacca and Allison Linke were among the main playmakers for Prospect as the former posted eight points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks and the latter earned seven points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Calvacca a new career-high in points. Riley Carroll was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Rolling Meadows was able to grind out a solid win over Vernon Hills on Saturday, taking the game 57-44.

Prospect's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for Rolling Meadows, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Prospect strolled past Rolling Meadows in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 53-36. Will Prospect repeat their success, or does Rolling Meadows have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
