It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Oakman ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past the Carbon Hill Bulldogs 9-8. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Sophie Davis spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on ten hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Melody Busby, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Journi Randle was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Oakman's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-14. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Carbon Hill, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season.
