Basketball Recap: Covenant Christian Comes Up Short

Covenant Christian fought the good fight in their overtime contest against University on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 79-75 hit to the loss column at the hands of the University Trailblazers. The Warriors have struggled against the Trailblazers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Covenant Christian still got an impressive performance from Isaac Crane, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 18 rebounds. The match was Crane's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Joe Midla was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Covenant Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for University, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Covenant Christian will challenge Monrovia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Monrovia is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.4 points per game this season. As for University, they will square off against Muncie Burris at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. University is facing Muncie Burris at the right time seeing as Muncie Burris is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
