Basketball Recap: Shelby-Rising City Takes a Loss

Shelby-Rising City lost against David City back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Shelby-Rising City Huskies were outmatched by the David City Scouts and fell 54-18. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while the Scouts are ranked 87th).

Taya Pinneo was Shelby-Rising City's leading scorer, having posted nine points.

Shelby-Rising City has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for David City, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-7.

Shelby-Rising City has already played their next contest (against Dorchester), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. David City will venture away from home to square off against Central City at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th.
