Softball Recap: Marquette's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Marquette's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Sault Area Blue Devils by a score of 11-7. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Sentinels considering their two-run performance the match before.

Charlye Swajanen spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and six unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Eva Dewitt was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Cece Fuller, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

Marquette moved to 16-7 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Sault Area, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Looking ahead, Marquette will challenge Plymouth Christian Academy at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Sault Area, they will take on Westwood on Saturday.
