Basketball Recap: Kent Denver Comes Up Short at Home Against Timnath

Kent Denver unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 60-59 to the Timnath Cubs. The Sun Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cubs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Kent Denver had strong showings from Austin Duncan, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds, and Emerson Hamman, who went 7-for-16 en route to 21 points in addition to five boards and five steals. The matchup was Duncan's third in a row with at least 19 points. London Barry was another key player, putting up seven points along with eight boards and five steals.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Kent Denver will venture away from home to challenge Holy Family at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Timnath, they will head out to face off against Liberty Common at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
