Basketball Preview: Bynum Bulldogs vs. Blum Bobcats
The Bynum Bulldogs will head out to face off against the Blum Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bynum will be strutting in after a win while Blum will be coming in after a loss.
On Tuesday, Bynum got the win against Three Way by a conclusive 63-39. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 24 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bynum to victory, but perhaps none more so than Colin Poole, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards. Poole continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Joshua Castro, who went 7 of 13 en route to 18 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Bynum smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in five consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Blum was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. The contest between them and Covington didn't end well, with Blum falling 59-43. One positive for the Bobcats, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Bynum has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for Blum, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
