Basketball Recap: Summit Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Summit Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost to the Denbigh Baptist Christian Minutemen on the road by a 37-19 margin. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Minutemen this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 30-23 back in January.

Denbigh Baptist Christian can attribute much of their success to Tori Carr, who posted 11 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. What's more, Carr also posted a 36% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Julia Kinney, who earned 11 points along with eight boards and three steals.

Summit Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Denbigh Baptist Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9.

Summit Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Denbigh Baptist Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Atlantic Shores Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
