Softball Recap: Yorktown Wildcats vs. Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats
Yorktown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats, falling 24-10. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-0 back in March.
Sydnie Krueger made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Lorelai Gowens was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
Yorktown's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Skidmore-Tynan, their win bumped their record up to 21-4.
Yorktown does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Skidmore-Tynan, they will challenge Kenedy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bobcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season.
