Basketball Recap: Haltom Buffalos vs. Bowie Volunteers

After a string of three wins, the Haltom Buffalos's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 65-56 to Bowie. Haltom was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Volunteers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Despite the loss, Haltom still got an impressive performance from Kuol Atak, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Atak is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last ten games he's played. Another player making a difference was Baron Smith jr, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds.

Haltom's defeat dropped their record down to 20-9. As for Bowie, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-14 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Haltom will take on the Texans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sam Houston has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 5. As for Bowie, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. South Grand Prairie is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
