Football Recap: Santa Ana Has No Trouble Against Santa Ana Valley

Santa Ana had won three straight at home, but on Friday they bumped up to 3-2 to make it four. They strolled past the Santa Ana Valley Falcons with points to spare, taking the game 28-14. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Saints also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

As for Santa Ana Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-4-1. On the bright side, the 14- point performance marked their highest-scoring contest to date.

Fern Dircio and Eduardo Vivas certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Dircio rushed for 143 yards on only 15 carries, while Vivas rushed for 46 yards and one TD. Dircio's longest rush was for an impressive 53 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Santa Ana and Santa Ana Valley will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Saints see the field they'll take on Irvine at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. As for Santa Ana Valley, their break will end when they face Calvary Chapel at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
