Baseball Recap: Hilliard Bradley Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Hilliard Bradley dropped their record down to 12-13 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Lincoln Lions by a score of 3-2. The Jaguars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 8-5.

Hilliard Bradley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vince Navarro, who went 3-for-5 with one run. The Jaguars are 2-1 when Navarro posts three or more hits, but 10-12 otherwise.

As for Lincoln, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-14. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games.

On Lincoln's side, Nathan Roberts tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over seven innings pitched. Roberts has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Landon George was excellent, going 3-for-6 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hilliard Bradley will take on Grove City at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Greyhounds' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Jaguars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lincoln, they will challenge Pickerington Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
