Recap: Taylor Ducks vs. Manor New Tech
The Taylor Ducks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 27 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 65-21 win over Manor New Tech on the road. Given Taylor's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 417th, while Manor New Tech is ranked 945th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Taylor was led to victory by Asia Zachary and Madyson Mitchell. Zachary scored 13 points along with five steals, while Mitchell scored 17 points along with five rebounds. The match was Mitchell's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kionayh Rivers, who scored seven points.
Taylor's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-7. As for Manor New Tech, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Taylor will be home for the holidays to greet La Grange at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully La Grange focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday. Manor New Tech will be home for the holidays to greet Smithville at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
