Basketball Recap: Wildwood Comes Up Short

Wildwood lost against Lower Cape May back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wildwood Warriors took a hard 64-48 fall against the Lower Cape May Tigers. The Warriors were down 56-33 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

When it comes to explaining why Wildwood lost, don't look at Brian Cunniff. Despite the final result, he posted 15 points. Cunniff's afternoon made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nolan Mawhinney, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 11 points.

Wildwood's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Lower Cape May, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-7.

Wildwood has already played their next matchup, a 72-43 loss against Salem on the 28th. Lower Cape May has also already played their next game (against Egg Harbor Township), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
