Volleyball Game Preview: DeSmet Bulldogs vs. Iroquois/Lake Preston

The DeSmet Bulldogs will take on Iroquois/Lake Preston at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Thursday, DeSmet came up short against Estelline/Hendricks and fell 3-1. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with Estelline/Hendricks: they've now lost three in a row.

DeSmet started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 26-24, 25-23, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Iroquois/Lake Preston came up short against St. Mary on Thursday, falling 3-0.

Iroquois/Lake Preston was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-22, 25-13.

DeSmet's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-7. As for Iroquois/Lake Preston, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

DeSmet was able to grind out a solid victory over Iroquois/Lake Preston in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do Iroquois/Lake Preston have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
