Salem is 6-1 against Roxana since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Wildcats will square off against the Shells at 3:45 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Salem has 12 straight victories, Roxana has 19 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Salem proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Columbia 1-0.

The result came thanks to Breanna Thurman's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Salem's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Lilly Blagoue, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Roxana came up short against Freeburg on Friday, falling 18-1.

Salem pushed their record up to 17-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Roxana, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-17.

Everything went Salem's way against Roxana in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Salem made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
