Baseball Game Preview: Lower Dauphin Falcons vs. Bishop McDevitt Crusaders

The Lower Dauphin Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Bishop McDevitt Crusaders at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lower Dauphin has three straight wins, Bishop McDevitt has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Lower Dauphin took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Hershey, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Falcons won by a run and slipped past the Trojans 2-1.

Meanwhile, Bishop McDevitt fell victim to Palmyra and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 1-0.

Lower Dauphin pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Bishop McDevitt, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Everything went Lower Dauphin's way against Bishop McDevitt in their previous meeting back in March, as Lower Dauphin made off with a 14-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
