Soccer Recap: Scottsboro Falls Short of Guntersville in the Playoffs

Scottsboro and Guntersville squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Scottsboro had to settle for second. They fell just short of Guntersville by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Scottsboro can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Guntersville is ranked 20th).

Scottsboro's loss dropped their record down to 8-12-5. As for Guntersville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4-1 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Guntersville beat Scottsboro by a score of 2-1 later that day.
