Volleyball Recap: Rigby Falls Short Against Ranked Bear Lake

Rigby faced Bear Lake in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Trojans fell just short of the Bears by a score of 2-1. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Rigby lost, don't look at Breleigh Youngstrom. Despite the final result, she had 18 digs and two aces. Youngstrom has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times she's played.

The defeat snapped Rigby's winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 19-4 record. As for Bear Lake, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-2 record this season.

Rigby didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Canyon Ridge on the 23rd. As for Bear Lake, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Idaho Falls on the 20th.
