Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Tree Academy War Eagles vs. Lotus School For Excellence Meteors

The Liberty Tree Academy War Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Lotus School For Excellence Meteors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty Tree Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

While Liberty Tree Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They really took it to Monument Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 69-28 victory. The War Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Kaleb Mendez was his usual excellent self, going 12 of 19 en route to 28 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaydence Smith, who posted 14 points in addition to six boards and five assists.

Liberty Tree Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in seven consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Lotus School For Excellence had to suffer through a 78-49 loss at the hands of Moffat County. The Meteors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Liberty Tree Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Lotus School For Excellence, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
