Soccer Game Preview: Lipscomb Academy vs. Montgomery Bell Academy

Lipscomb Academy is 0-4 against Montgomery Bell Academy since April of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Mustangs will take on the Big Red at 6:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Lipscomb Academy took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Brentwood Academy a 1-0 shutout. The win was a breath of fresh air for Lipscomb Academy as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Montgomery Bell Academy faced Ensworth in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Big Red came up short against the Tigers, falling 3-0. The match was a close 1-0 at the break, but unfortunately for Montgomery Bell Academy it sure didn't stay that way.

Having lost for the first time this season, Montgomery Bell Academy fell to 7-1. As for Lipscomb Academy, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-7.

Lipscomb Academy suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Montgomery Bell Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
