Football Game Preview: St. Joseph Regional Green Knights vs. Don Bosco Prep Ironmen

The St. Joseph Regional Green Knights will face off against the Don Bosco Prep Ironmen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with St. Joseph Regional sitting on five straight victories and Don Bosco Prep on 11.

St. Joseph Regional is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They snuck past St. Peter's Prep with a 25-21 win.

Nathan Bailey produced another solid performance rushing for 103 yards and four touchdowns, while also picking up 73 receiving yards.

On Friday fans watched as two of the best teams in the nation hit the field. Don Bosco Prep strolled past Bergen Catholic with points to spare, taking the game 31-17. The score was all tied up 10-10 at the break, but the Ironmen were the (much) better team in the second half.

Don Bosco Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Matt Occhipinti, Mikahi Allen, and Kane Ramos picked up one apiece. Allen also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with eight. Another thorn in Bergen Catholic's side was Robert Ekins, who picked up two sacks, forced one fumble, and made six total tackles.

St. Joseph Regional's record is now 9-2. As for Don Bosco Prep, their record now sits at 11-0.

St. Joseph Regional couldn't quite finish off Don Bosco Prep when the teams last played back in October and fell 17-14. Can the Green Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
