Soccer Game Preview: Northgate vs. Brookwood

The Northgate Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Brookwood Broncos at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Northgate is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Georgia's top teams: St. Anne-Pacelli, who was ranked eighth at the time (Northgate was ranked 18th). Northgate's defense stepped up to hand St. Anne-Pacelli a 9-0 shutout on Tuesday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Northgate considering their one-goal performance the matchup before.

Meanwhile, Brookwood strolled into their game two weeks ago with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past Meadowcreek 9-0. Give Brookwood's defense some credit: that's the team's tenth straight shutout.

Northgate's win bumped their record up to 16-1. As for Brookwood, their victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-0.
