Football Recap: Bishop Blanchet Starts Season with Victory on the Road + How To Watch

Bishop Blanchet had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Monroe Bearcats as they made off with a 42-20 win. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-6.

Gavin Henry went supernova, throwing for 189 yards and four TDs, while also punching in one score on the ground. Bishop Blanchet also got a significant boost from Zack Schwaegler, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 98 yards.

Bishop Blanchet was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 239 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Monroe lost, don't look at Jacob Jutte. Despite the final result, he picked up 167 receiving yards and one touchdown. Jutte was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 52 yards.

Bishop Blanchet has already played their next contest, a 48-10 loss against Eastside Catholic on the 11th. As for Monroe, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 16-8 defeat against Edmonds-Woodway on the 12th.
