Basketball Recap: Pompano Beach Takes a Loss

Pompano Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost to the Stoneman Douglas Eagles at home by a 72-55 margin. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Tornadoes of the 56-50 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Pompano Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Stoneman Douglas, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pompano Beach will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Taravella at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Stoneman Douglas, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Flanagan at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Stoneman Douglas knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Flanagan likes a good challenge.
