Basketball Game Preview: Astronaut War Eagles vs. Pineapple Cove Classical Academy Patriots

The Astronaut War Eagles and the Pineapple Cove Classical Academy Patriots will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with eight consecutive losses for Astronaut and six for Pineapple Cove Classical Academy dating back to last season.

Astronaut saw some tournament action on Thursday. They were beaten by Cocoa 68-7. While losing is never fun, the War Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 640th, while the Tigers are ranked 129th).

Meanwhile, Pineapple Cove Classical Academy scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They were dealt a 55-24 loss at the hands of Melbourne Central Catholic.

Pineapple Cove Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Astronaut, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

Astronaut strolled past Pineapple Cove Classical Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 24-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for Astronaut since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
