Baseball Recap: Covenant Christian Takes a Loss

Covenant Christian extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 3-6 in the process. They came up short against the Kenowa Hills Knights, falling 12-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Thursday.

Covenant Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Kaiser, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Those hits were Kaiser's first of the season.

As for Kenowa Hills, they pushed their record up to 9-2-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

On Kenowa Hills' side, Alex Menzel was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave Menzel a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chastyn Cole, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Covenant Christian will head out to face off against Hopkins at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Kenowa Hills, they will take on Lowell at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
