Ben L. Smith was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 25-13 to the Grimsley Whirlies. On the bright side, the 13- run performance marked the Golden Eagles' highest-scoring contest to date.

Ben L. Smith saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keani Scurlock-Slade, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was Scurlock-Slade's first of the season. Jamesia Bolden was another, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Ben L. Smith's record now sits at 0-7. As for Grimsley, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ben L. Smith will face off against Western Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Fighting Hornets will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Grimsley, they will take on Williams at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.29 runs per game on average), something the Whirlies will no doubt try to take advantage of.
