Volleyball Recap: Shadow Ridge Stallions vs. Corona del Sol Aztecs

If Shadow Ridge was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Gila Ridge on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Stallions took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Corona del Sol Aztecs on Friday. The Stallions haven't had much luck with the Aztecs recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Haley Cashatt paced Shadow Ridge's offense, picking up five kills. Cashatt got some help from Rigley Garrison and her 11 assists.

Corona del Sol can attribute much of their success to Brenna Walsh, who had ten digs and two aces. That's the most digs Walsh has posted since back in September. Jalynn Drake also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Shadow Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 19-6-5. As for Corona del Sol, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 23-2.

Shadow Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Liberty on the 10th. As for Corona del Sol, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Verrado on the 10th.
