Basketball Game Preview: Central Christian Crusaders vs. Praise Academy Lions

The Central Christian Crusaders will challenge the Praise Academy Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Central Christian is headed into Thursday's matchup hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They were dealt a 63-27 defeat at the hands of Konos Academy two weeks ago.

Central Christian might have lost, but man, Sarah Passow was a machine: she went 7 for 12 on her way to 17 points in addition to eight boards and five blocks. Passow has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 19 times she's played.

Meanwhile, Praise Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They lost to Allatoona at home by a 44-26 margin.

Central Christian's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4. As for Praise Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.

Central Christian strolled past Praise Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a score of 41-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
