Basketball Recap: Rome Comes Up Short

Rome was the 68-54 winner over East Paulding when they last played one another back in February of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Wolves fell 65-52 to the Raiders on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 280th, while the Raiders are ranked 121st).

Rome has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for East Paulding, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Rome will take on Alexander at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves will need to watch out since the Cougars have now posted at least 55 points in their last 15 contests. As for East Paulding, they will challenge New Manchester at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders will be up against the Jaguar's rather soft defense (which has allowed 64.58 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
