Soccer Recap: Hoover Takes a Loss

Hoover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Madera Coyotes. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Hoover's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Madera, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-12-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hoover has already played their next match (against Sunnyside), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Madera will head out on the road to challenge San Joaquin Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Madera's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for nine straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
