Recap: Manchester Valley Mavericks vs. Century Knights

The Manchester Valley Mavericks came tearing into Wednesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Century and snuck past 54-51. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Manchester Valley has posted yet this season.

It was another big night for Brendan Luddy, who scored 22 points along with two steals. Braylen Williams was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with nine rebounds.

Manchester Valley pushed their record up to 7-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Century, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manchester Valley will take on Winters Mill at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Century, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Carroll at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in South Carroll's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups.
