Volleyball Preview: Elko Indians vs. Fernley Vaqueros
Elko has enjoyed a five-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will head out to challenge the Fernley Vaqueros at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Meanwhile, Fernley came tearing into Monday's matchup with three straight wins and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 3-0 victory.
Fernley's not only won, but also showed off some consistency: keeping North Valleys between 16 and 18 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-18, 25-16.
Fernley was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Valleys only served two.
Elko has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-9 record this season. As for Fernley, their win bumped their record up to 16-4.
Elko was able to grind out a solid victory over Fernley when the teams last played back in September, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Elko since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
