Basketball Game Preview: Westbrook Wildcats vs. Roby Lions

Westbrook is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Roby is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Westbrook Wildcats take on the Roby Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Westbrook is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Loraine: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Westbrook blew Loraine out of the water with a 70-29 final score. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-9.

Westbrook can attribute much of their success to Jaxson Browne, who went 9 of 14 en route to 20 points and seven boards, and Caleb Browne, who went 8 for 13 on his way to 18 points and five steals. The contest was Jaxson's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brett Rich, who posted seven points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists.

Westbrook was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, Roby got the win against Loraine on Tuesday by a conclusive 75-50.

Westbrook has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.2 points per game. As for Roby, their win bumped their record up to 15-11.

Westbrook strolled past Roby when the teams last played back in January by a score of 49-32. Does Westbrook have another victory up their sleeve, or will Roby turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
