Softball Recap: Kingswood Oxford's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Kingswood Oxford came tearing into Saturday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Williston Northampton Wildcats a 4-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Wyverns, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Alexis Nisyrios ?27 was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, Lillian Evans ?29 was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

Kingswood Oxford's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Williston Northampton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.
