Basketball Recap: Travelers Rest Comes Up Short

If Travelers Rest was feeling good fresh off their 64-39 takedown of Pickens last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Travelers Rest Devildogs had to suffer through a 80-38 loss at the hands of the Greer Yellow Jackets. While losing is never fun, the Devildogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 221st, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 26th).

Travelers Rest has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Greer, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-6.

Travelers Rest will challenge Daniel at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Daniel is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.1 points per game this season. As for Greer, they will square off against Pickens at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Greer's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Pickens has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
