Basketball Recap: Naselle Takes a Loss

Naselle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 44-29 bruising from the Willapa Valley Vikings. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Comets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 45-41 back in December of 2024.

Willapa Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tylar Keeton, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 21 rebounds. Those 21 boards gave Keeton a new career-high. Lauren Matlock was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

Naselle's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Willapa Valley, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Naselle will face off against Lake Quinault at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Naselle is facing Lake Quinault at the right time seeing as Lake Quinault is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Willapa Valley, they will take on Taholah at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Taholah has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
